The request
This one is our own product. Everyone has people they mean to text on their birthday and then forget. Reminder apps tell you it's someone's birthday, and you still have to come up with something on the spot. We wanted to flip that: write the wish whenever you feel like it, weeks early, and have it sent from your own account on the morning of the birthday. Not from a bot, not from a new number. From you.
How we did it
Ten minutes of setup, then nothing
You sign in with a six-digit code sent to your email. No password. Add people and their dates, write the wishes, and you're done. Each date repeats every year, and one message can go to a whole group with each person's name filled in.
Sent from your own chat
The hard part was sending a message from the user's own WhatsApp or Telegram at the right hour in their time zone. We built a separate always-on service that links to your account the same way WhatsApp Web does, and checks every five minutes for anything due.
Pay once, like buying a card
No subscription. The calendar is free forever, and sending costs €24 for a year, €60 for five years or €96 for life. Stripe handles the payment, and a refund or dispute switches sending off automatically.
You're never left guessing
Every person has a send log, and if a message can't be delivered you get an email right away. Test and live data are kept completely apart, so nothing from development can ever reach a real account.
